The sarin gas attack on Syrian civilians on August 21, 2013 was a horrific crime. The scenes of people writhing in pain and expiring was not something that any rational human being would or should be able to turn away from. There’s not much controversy that gas was used. Looking at the videos of the attack leaves little room for doubt. There is, however, a controversy about who was responsible. According to an article initially published by the Mint Press and later picked up by Examiner.com, rebels admitted to receiving […]
This video was brought to our attention by our friend and bodhisattva in training Josh Vernon. This is a panel discussion that includes The Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to the Americas which took place at Bard College in Kingston, New York. httpv://youtu.be/L6o8R3LOuG8
Editor’s note: This photo was sent to us today and we thought it was too cool not to pass it on. We’re not sure where it came from, but we’re assuming the owner of this pic won’t mind if you pass it around… Click on image to see full size.
Editor’s note: Most of us of a certain age will remember Daniel Ellsburg, who in 1971 leaked the “Pentagon Papers,” a top-secret Pentagon study of US government decision-making in relation to the Vietnam War, to “The New York” Times and other newspapers. Well, today Mr. Ellsburg is 80 years old and still very much an activist, thank you. In this video, Ellsburg is being handcuffed for protesting, outside the White House, the torture of Bradley Manning who is awaiting trial for allegedly giving government secrets to Wikileaks. httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gM5PlmnPxWA
Editor’s Note: This video makes a well told powerful statement of truth. Although this video has been avaliable on YouTube since 2009, we feel it needs to go viral. If you’re an old hippie from the sixties, don’t be afraid to shout, “We tried to tell you so!” If you grew up in this post hippie world, don’t be afraid to question why all of this is still going on, even though we tried to warn the world over forty years ago. We urge you to post this on your […]
“There is nothing more unequal than the equal treatment of unequal people.” – Thomas Jefferson We live in a world that runs on a war based economy. Wars create jobs. When we have peace people find jobs scarce. I first discovered this several years ago when a man at one of my screenings of Leni Riefenstahl’s film, Triumph of the Will, after hearing me speak, gave me a copy of Jerry Mander’s book, Four Arguments for the Elimination of Television. […]
We’re not sure exactly what’s happening with John McCain, but we’re increasingly grateful that the voting public had the good sense to not put him in the White House in 2008. We’re hoping that what we’re seeing with McCain is just the bad side of party politics and not some underlying medical problem. No matter how much we disagree with Mr. McCain politically, we’ve come to sort of like him as a human being. httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JvD52QsCNfs&feature=player_embedded#!
