Don’t Hide News to Keep Trump and the Trumpets From Seeing It

Self censoring your social media posts to keep “inconvenient” stories out of the hands of Trump supporters who might use them against us is an exercise in futility.

To defeat Trump, we need to know the whole story. We also need to hold true to our values.

Sadly, these days many people get all of their news from the Internet. Sadder still, many only read news stories after being directed to them by their Facebook friends. Because of this, I take great care when posting a news link on Facebook to make sure I’m linking to the best source I can find.

I also take great care to make sure I’m not linking to stories with exaggerated importance — the type of story that makes a mountain out of something rather meaningless that Trump and his minions has done or said that really doesn’t matter. Desperate or greedy websites publish plenty of this type of story as clickbait, eliciting a knee jerk reaction from us. We Trump opponents can be easily seduced by those who flatter us by pointing out how smart we are.

Behind the Hype and Headlines of Syria

The sarin gas attack on Syrian civilians on August 21, 2013 was a horrific crime. The scenes of people writhing in pain and expiring was not something that any rational human being would or should be able to turn away from. There’s not much controversy that gas was used. Looking at the videos of the attack leaves little room for doubt.

There is, however, a controversy about who was responsible. According to an article initially published by the Mint Press and later picked up by Examiner.com, rebels admitted to receiving the materials from Prince Bandar Bin Sultan the chief of Saudi Intelligence.

Mandrake the Congressman

These days American government is all just a magician’s show, nothing but slight of hand and misdirection.

That’s only to be expected. For years Congress, the Presidency, Wall Street and about everyone else who holds the real keys to ownership in this country has been maintaining the illusion that you and I, who have nothing but a borrowed pot to piss in, are actually the owners of this great land and that the government works for us.

This Isn’t Your Mother’s Phone Call

Don’t look in the mirror. You won’t like what you see.

To my generation, nobody ever wanted to grow up to be like mom and dad. Indeed, many of my girlfriends were majorly traumatized when they realized they’d grown up to be “just like Mother.” It appears this is what’s happening to us now as a nation. We’ve grown up to be the countries we were warned against. We’re starting to bear a strange resemblance to countries led by people with names like Stalin or Franco.

The Agenda

The way I see it, we’re preaching to the choir. If you’re reading this, then you most likely somewhat agree with us, or you are at least tolerant of the our viewpoint. Unless you’re a trolling teabagger, then you’re here because you want to go slack jawed and slap yourself, so you can go on Facebook and post a link to our site and tell everyone how laughable we are.

If you’re the latter, you’re going to be disappointed. You’ll not find much fodder for your amazement here. The way I figure it, we’re all voting for Obama and Mitt Romney’s full of it. There’s no reason to belittle that point and keep repeating what a scumbag hypocrite he is. It just pisses off the right, and makes us feel smug enough that we risk forgetting that we have work to do. We need to be figuring out what it is we really want.

“The man who speaks of the enemy is the enemy himself.”—Bertholt Brecht.

“There is nothing more unequal than the equal treatment of unequal people.” – Thomas Jefferson

We live in a world that runs on a war based economy. Wars create jobs. When we have peace people find jobs scarce.

I first discovered this several years ago when a man at one of my screenings of Leni Riefenstahl’s film, Triumph of the Will, after hearing me speak, gave me a copy of Jerry Mander’s book, Four Arguments for the Elimination of Television.
